Brasil is overflowing with the most amazing gems you have ever seen. Shops lined the streets spilling out onto the sidewalks with large crystals from amethyst to citrine rose quartz and quartz crystals everywhere you turn. Some exceeding 70 kilos. As a jewelry designer, I was in heaven! Crystals are said to have a specific energy and healing power. They are great to place in your home or adorning your body as jewelry. These gems natural to Brasil come from the ground and the quartz crystal vibrates at 786,000 pulses per millisecond. This and its continuum moves faster than light, and why they used in quartz watches.
The stones were gorgeous; I wanted to take them all home! There were amethyst inside the natural rocks called geodes, some with crystals inside the rock in a cavity and others protruding. I couldn’t resist and had to buy one. They say the rock finds you. I bought several rose quartz crystals in heart shapes and pyramids and even bracelets, crystal quartz pyramids in all sizes.
Here are a few of my favorites:
Healing properties: Helps with expression and links the energy of the heart with the crown chakra.
Prasiolite is part of the quartz crystal family, so it is a strong amplifier of energy. It is actually a green amethyst. Since it emerged in fire, it actually created a new variety of the original purple amethyst stone. Deposits of this stone are found in Brasil and the U.S. Using any amethyst stone will heighten your spirituality and health.
Healing properties: Purple Amethyst stimulates beauty and calms the mind and emotions. It is also said to protect from drunkenness.
Amethyst is mostly found in Brasil, Sri Lanka, Uruguay and the Far East.
Healing Properties: Known as ‘the love stone’, its energies help manifest unconditional love, joy, and warmth. This stone helps to heal personal relationships.
Deposits have been found in Brasil India, Japan South Africa, South Dakota and the USA. It is less often available as crystals and is more commonly found in the massive form.
Healing Properties: Citrine helps manifest imagination and will. It carries the power of the sun, giving comforting, energy and life giving.
Brasil is the worlds leading suppliers of citrine. It is also found in Namibia, Russia, Scotland, Spain, Uruguay, and Zambia. Untreated citrine is usually pale yellow to golden in color. It is often accompanied by smoky brownish tones. It can also have tones of golden orange to rich gold-brown.
I was so inspired by my trip to Brasil! Now it’s time to create!
